Deputy Principal Pastoral Care - Secondary
Full-time positon to commence Term 1, 2020

This new College Leadership role will lead with vision and clarity the pastoral care approach at St Mary's College. They will coordinate the day to day pastoral care of students on the secondary campus ensuring each child has a strong sense of belonging, feels safe and secure, is seen as an individual and has every opportunity for success in post school life. The Deputy of Pastoral Care will also oversee the pastoral care of staff recognising that in our unique environment staff deal with and confront issues that may impact on them. This position will also work closely with the Head of RE and Ministry on the coordination of ministry and the Catholic Identity of the Secondary campus in collaboration with the College Leadership team.

Assistant Principal x 3 - Primary
Full-time positon to commence Term 1, 2020

The Assistant Principal- Primary is a middle leadership role that works collaboratively with the Deputy Principal of Primary and fellow Assistant Principals to ensure the ongoing development, review and implementation of the primary teaching and learning program, the day to day operations on the primary campus, meet the pastoral care needs of students and lead the Catholic Identity of the primary campus in collaboration with the Deputy Principal Primary and the College Leadership Team.

Head of House x 4 - Secondary
Full-time positon to commence Term 1, 2020

Each Head of House will be responsible for approximately 70 students from Year 7-12. It is expected that each student is known by their Head of House and guided through their school experience. This includes ensuring there is a deep connection with the charism of each House, that students from across Year levels know each other and feel a genuine sense of care for one another. The Head of House role is a lynch pin role that seeks to develop the whole child spiritually, culturally, academically and across co-curricular opportunities.
Each Head of House will have a key leadership responsibility that will be allocated by the Principal following a review of the strengths and experience of the successful applicants.

Head of Learning Area – Secondary
Full-time positon to commence Term 1, 2020

The Head of Learning Area role works with the Deputy Principal Curriculum to lead the teaching and learning program, curriculum scope and sequence, to develop co-curricular and tutoring opportunities for students and ensure each student on the secondary campus has the best environment in which to achieve their potential and reach their post school goals. Heads of Learning Area in consultation with the Deputy Principal of Curriculum will also lead the growth and development of each staff member in their team by coaching and guiding staff to formulate a professional growth plan, developing peer observations, regular lesson observations along with learning walks with the Principal and Deputy Principal of Curriculum.

Head of Learning Area Vocational Education & Training & Careers– Secondary
Full-time positon to commence Term 1, 2020

The Head of Learning Area- VET and Careers is responsible for meeting the specific needs of VET and the learning outcomes of all VET students. Central to this is developing a program and opportunities in VET that are dynamic, creative, and engaging for all students regardless of their ability. This position also coordinates the career counselling service at St Mary’s College where students and/or parents can book appointments to discuss individual pathways, options and opportunities and further careers with students.

Head of Learning Area Learning Support – Secondary
Full-time positon to commence Term 1, 2020

The role of the Head of Learning Support is to support the mission of the College through leadership of the teaching and learning support programs; to ensure that the unique needs of students who require additional support for learning are met; and to enhance the capacity of classroom teachers to differentiate and adjust the curriculum to meet the needs of these students. This role has an excellent understanding of the unique educational challenges facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and is culturally appropriate in assisting our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
